3D printing is all the rage these days, and eBay isn’t wasting any time in hopping on that bandwagon.
The company just launched a brand new mobile app (currently available exclusively for iPhone users) that lets shoppers buy their very own customizable 3D-printed merchandise through the app, building off of the concept popularized by Etsy, which allows consumers to purchase totally personalized goods on the Internet.
For now, eBay has partnered with three different 3D printing services, MakerBot, Sculpteo and Hot Pop Factory, who will make and ship products directly to consumers within two weeks of their orders. At the moment, there are about 20 different products available through eBay Exact, which range from jewelry to tech accessories (e.g. an iPhone case).
