Would have been more entertaining – and maybe faster – on a recumbent…..

I cannot imagine being on a bike at that speed. I once got up to 30 MPH (on a road with a steep downgrade, and with a strong tailwind), but I was terrified!

I wanted to see the end of it and how long he coasted and if he ended up breaking his head and other anatomy parts.

  • When I was a young teen, I tried to figure out how to put model rocket engines on my Bike. Never did it, though I met someone decades later who claimed he did. I doubt it would have taken me 50 mph let alone 163, and at 163 I’d probably have needed to change my pants after. =)

What else can the poor old French do? They haven’t had a winner of the Tour de France since 1985, drug use is out since the debacle of Lance “the Cheat” Armstrong, and to top off their misery the last two winners have been Brits!

So, now it’s just a matter of slimming the rocket equipment down until it fits into the frame and it’s all systems go for that yellow jersey…
