    [@Coyote] No offence, but that is a myth yet to be proven. Recovering legible data from shattered bits of 1’s and 0’s w/o prior knowledge… unlikely at best.

    Oh it’s totally possible. In fact any one of those slivers could be run under a special microscope and the data read from. Now reconstructing the whole drive would take some work and there would be missing bits (literally as they were turned to dust when it shattered) but as a whole, data could be recovered and likely pieced together enough for a forensic team to find incriminating evidence on.

    Pro Tip, data recovery is big business, it would cost 100’s if not 1000’s of dollars to do but it is possible.
