Do you often need to remind yourself to take a break? Whether it’s your work or something else, you always need a breather. If not, you will feel all burned out which apparently affects your performance at work.
Now if your work requires you to sit for long hours in front of a computer, then you might as well set up a simple break reminder. Your break time can be as short as fifteen minutes but that’s good enough for you to rest your tired eyes. Besides, you don’t really need to download or install any complex apps just to set up a simple break reminder. All you need to do is to follow the steps listed below.
Note: This method will only work if you are using Google Chrome.
Step One
On your Chrome web browser, go to the web store then download and install the app called “Break Reminder”.
Step Two
Once installed, launch the app and then you’ll see a small window that displays some basic settings for your break reminder.
Step Three
Switch the reminder on and then specify your preferred break time interval. It’s totally up to you if you want to receive a reminder every 15 minutes or every hour. Just make sure that your break time won’t compromise your work hours.
Once switched on, you can minimize the app or close its window. Even if it’s closed, the app will still continue running in the background so you will still receive a notification.
So that’s it. You’re done. When the time is due, the notification message will immediately appear on your taskbar.
Just keep in mind that the options for the said app are limited. Even if you want to, you cannot set its notification message to appear longer than usual. You cannot also set some custom notification tones or reminder sounds.
