In Chrome, it’s possible to restore recently close tabs. It’s also possible to organize tabs into groups. Now, what if you want to automatically arrange your tabs in alphabetical order? What if you want that Amazon tab to always come first while the YouTube tab would always come last? If you want to organize your tabs in such manner, you may go ahead and follow the steps listed in this post.
How to automatically arrange tabs by alphabetical order in Chrome
- First, you will need to download and install “Tab Grouper”. It’s a free browser extension for Chrome.
- After installing Tab Grouper, it won’t place any shortcut icon to your browser’s omnibar. Instead, it will just quietly run in the background.
- So what do you need to do next? Just open a tab like what you usually do.
- As you can notice, your tabs will be automatically arranged in alphabetical order. If you have already opened some tabs, they will be automatically sorted out as soon as you open a new tab.
- For example, you have existing tabs for YouTube and Wikipedia. The tab for YouTube comes first followed by the tab for Wikipedia. Then, you decided to open a tab for Amazon. As soon as you open the third tab, your browser will automatically rearrange your tabs alphabetically so from YouTube, Wikipedia and Amazon, it will be rearranged to Amazon, Wikipedia and YouTube.
- Aside from that, you don’t need to do anything else. You can also opt to make the extension run while you’re browsing in incognito. Just keep in mind that the auto-arrange by alphabetical order feature won’t work on pinned tabs.
It’s really that simple.
