If you go to your Twitter stream, you can view your tweets in Twitter’s default feed design and layout. If you go to individual user profiles, the tweets will be shown on top of a white background. Now, what if that’s not enough to appease your need for a simpler and cleaner reading experience?
Well, if that is the case, then you can choose to switch to a minimalist UI by following the steps listed below.
How to read tweets in a minimalist view in Twitter
- In Chrome, download and install “Twipster”, a free browser extension.
- After you install Twipster, just open a new tab and log in to your Twitter account. If you are already logged in, make sure to reload your Twitter account.
- As you can notice on your Twitter feed or stream, the default layout has been replaced by a simpler and cleaner one. With the new minimalist view, you won’t see anything aside from the tweets on your feed, the main navigation bar at the top and of course, your tweet status box. The rest of the elements that you can usually find on your Twitter page will be hidden. This includes the trending list, suggested users, etc.
- Now, if you want to go back to the default Twitter layout, simply disable the Twipster extension on your web browser.
It’s as simple as that.
By viewing your tweets in a minimalist view, you can just focus on reading the messages or text that appears on your feed. It certainly offers a distraction-free reading experience. So go ahead and check it out.
