These are the guidelines to unroot Samsung Galaxy Core LTE SM-G386F smartphones. Once you root your device, you will find the warranty working again. You are one of the lucky owners of a device that doesn’t come with Samsung’s Knox security. That means when you do unroot using the guide below, you are effectively returning the device to the same state it was in out of the box. You are able to send it away for free repairs and your manufacturer won’t know any different.

REQUIREMENTS

• The following guide is made only for the Samsung Galaxy Core LTE. You can go to the ‘About Device’ menu and check that you have the SM-G386F model number. That’s how you know this guide is made for you. No other model numbers should follow this guide.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

• Download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones from our USB driver page. If you scroll down the page, you’ll see the Samsung link giving you the Samsung driver from the Samsung website downloads page.
• Enable USB Debugging Mode. Go to the Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging by checking the box so it’s not empty.
• Those of you stuck because you cannot see any Developer Options probably need to unlock the hidden menu. Do that by heading to the Settings > About Device > tap over the build number with your finger until it says you are now a Developer. That’s a fancy way of saying the Developer Options menu is now available from the Settings where you can run some incredibly simple tasks such as enabling the USB Debugging.

HOW TO UNROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY CORE LTE SM-G386F

1. Download the Samsung Galaxy Core LTE SM-G385F firmware file from this link.
2. Download the Odin flashing tool from this link.
3. Download both files and move them to the desktop of the Windows PC.
4. Right-click over the files and choose the ‘extract here’ option.
5. Double-click the Odin file and run that program.
6. Hold in the Power button until you know the Samsung Galaxy Core LTE device is completely off.
7. Reboot the Galaxy Core LTE to download mode using the hardware keys. The keys you need to press are Home + Power + Volume Down.
8. Connect the smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
9. Wait as the Odin ID: COM port changes color to signify that your device is connected and detected.
10. Click the PDA/AP button.
11. Browse the desktop for the official firmware file you extracted there earlier.
12. Check the Auto Reboot and F Reset Time options.
13. Leave the re-partition box empty.
14. Click the Start button and let Odin flash that firmware file on your device.
15. Wait until your device reboots and Odin gives you a pass message.

If that method didn’t work for you, it is probably due to the USB drivers not working or the version of Odin not working with your device. The Odin tool was never officially released by Samsung and these things can happen. All you need to do is try out one of the other versions of Odin and see how it goes.
