Do you enjoy match-3 games but crave something unique and different in that genre? Then I suggest you download Mooniz and take it for a spin. The premise of Mooniz is much like the games where you touch 3 bubbles in a row and they pop/disapper, except for a few exceptions. Well first and foremost, the bubbles are now little moon monsters and you need to save the world by eliminating them. But what really sets this game apart from any in its genre is the combination of the moon monsters being round and the app’s use of gravity. In most match-3’s, the jewels/bubbles are all perfectly placed in quadrants, so they line up horizontally and vertically as they fall. Mooniz takes the concept in a different direction by having the circular moon monsters fall and watching gravity settle them into place (as seen in the screenshot). Besides just popping a trio of moon monsters, the developers also provide a unique set of 8 power-ups to help you on your way.
It will be clear how aesthetically pleasing this game is when you get to the main menu screen. There are three game modes (Classic, Rush, Multiplayer) to choose from, all of which are entertaining to play. It is worth noting that the power-ups are purchased through a coin system, in which you start with 500. I didn’t play the game long enough to see if you can maintain enough coins or you would have to purchase them at some point, which you are able to do. The key is that you don’t need the power-ups to play the game.
