Do you enjoy reading your RSS feeds, or feel otherwise compelled to read them? Are you a fan of cloud feed synchronization services, especially Google Reader? Do you absolutely love the color pink? If you answered yes to all of those questions, Flux is no doubt the RSS reader for you.
Flux is very pink. The home screen is alternating pink and light gray tiles, as shown to the left, and the splash screen shown before that is nothing but pink plus a white logo. There’s currently no way to change this coloring, unfortunately, so you’d better like pink.
When browsing feeds, your current item is shown on the right and your current feed on the left, almost exactly like Googl Reader for Android tablets. You can read individual feeds, Starred feeds, your unread feed, and even category feeds. From the individual item screen, you can add stars, keep unread, and mobilize the feed’s link. Clicking on the link will download the webpage for viewing inside Flux.
Flux is actually a great RSS feed reader. Its only real issue is the so very bright pinkness of it, but even that’s only superficial. It’d be nice to be able to choose that and your background, but those are both minor graphical things. On the functional side, the only thing I was able to pick out as missing was a way of swiping from item to item in the item view. Otherwise, Flux is probably the best Windows 8 RSS reader I’ve seen yet, and is definitely worthy of your download.
