What happens when you combine a filter that only captures a very narrow wavelength of light (H-alpha, emitted by hydrogen) with a 90mm telescope and point it at the Sun? You get an awesome, unique photo of said Sun. That is exactly what photographer Alan Friedman did and the result is absolutely stunning. Check it out:
