REQUIREMENTS

  • You should only use this guide on the T-Mobile variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. You can check your model number by heading to the About Device section from the Settings.
  • Moreover, the guide is tested and working for the current Android 5.1 Lollipop it comes with out of the box. There’s every chance Google developers patch this exploit in the soon to be Android 6.0 Marshmallow at some stage.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

  • It’s best to download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones. The drivers and guide should work well for you. However, if the guide is not working, try rebooting the computer. Sometimes the drivers need a reboot before they start working.
  • Double check you have the USB Debugging Mode enabled. You should find it’s on by default in Lollipop. Nevertheless, if it’s not on it won’t work, so it’s easier just to make sure. Head to the Apps > Settings App > Developer Options > check the box for the USB Debugging.
  • Some people might not manage to get that far because they cannot find the Developer Options from the Settings. For all those people, try tapping over the build number seven times from the About Device menu. Now head back to the Settings and it should be there now.
  • You do void the warranty by following this guide. Furthermore, the Samsung devices come with Knox security so a simple unroot solution won’t necessarily make the warranty work again.
