REQUIREMENTS

1. The updated CF-Root package in this guide is made for the KOT49H.N7100XXUFNI1 firmware build number on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. You should downgrade to that build if you are not running it on the device. You can check your build by navigating to the Menu > Settings > About Device > Build number.
2. These are the instructions to root Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the model number GT-N7100 only. You can check your model number by heading to the Menu > Settings > About Device > Model Number.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

1. You can only follow this guide if you are using a Windows PC as the Odin flashing application will not flash for your device unless it is running on Windows operating systems.
2. Download and install the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones from the link we have available from our USB Driver downloads page.

HOW TO ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2 GT-N7100 ON ANDROID 4.4.2

1. Download the updated CF-Root package for the N7100 from this link.
2. Download the latest Odin flashing tool from this link.
3. Extract both packages to the desktop of the computer by right-clicking and choosing the “extract here” option once they are on the desktop.
4. Boot the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 device in download mode by pressing the Volume Down + Power + Home buttons simultaneously.
5. Wait and then press the Volume Up button when the Galaxy Note 2 display tells you to do so.
6. Connect the Galaxy Note 2 t the computer using the USB cable.
7. Click the AP or the PDA button from the Odin user-interface and browse the desktop for the updated CF-Root executable file you want to flash.
8. Click the Start button when you are ready for the flashing to begin.
9. Wait until the Odin user-interface gives you the pass message and the green box lights up.
10. The Galaxy Note 2 should reboot automatically; if it does, you can do that manually instead.
11. Now that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is rebooted back in the normal mode, you can start installing your rooted apps from the Google Play Store and other third-party sources.
