These are the guidelines to install TWRP Recovery on Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G920P smartphones running any firmware for the device.

REQUIREMENTS

• The following guide is intended for the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the model number SM-G920P only. Flashing the file in this guide on any other device will probably brick that device. You can always check your Galaxy S6’s model number by tapping on the Menu > Settings > About Device > Model Number.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

• Download the Samsung USB Drivers for the computer running Windows you are using during the guide and have them installed before you start the guide.
• Unlock your hidden Developer Options menu by tapping on the Menu > Settings > About Device > Build Number 7 times.
• Enable the USB Debugging Mode on your Galaxy S6 Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode. Exit your Developer Options menu and it will remember your preference of having the USB Debugging Mode enabled.
• Your Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone by Sprint can be rooted or unrooted when you follow this guide. The current and past root status of the device does not matter. However, some of the other methods you find online could require root.

HOW TO INSTALL TWRP RECOVERY ON SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 SM-G920P

1. Download the TWRP for the Galaxy S6 G920P from this link.
2. Download the Odin flashing tool from this link.
3. Have the two files on the desktop of your computer and then right-click > extract here.
4. Run the Odin executable file by double-clicking over the Odin file you can see after extracting in the step above.
5. Turn off the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone and reboot it in download mode.
6. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S6 to the computer with the USB cable.
7. Click the PDA or the AP button that is available from the user-interface of the Odin application running on your computer.
8. Browse the desktop for the executable TWRP file and wait until you can see the file extension showing from the Odin user-interface before proceeding to the next step.
9. Do not make changes to the default settings you can see available from the Odin app on the computer.
10. Click the Start button from the Odin app on the computer and wait until it flashes the TRWP recovery on your Samsung Galaxy S6 and then the smartphone reboots. That should all happen automatically after clicking the Start button.

TWRP is now installed on your Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone and you cannot get access to the stock recovery until you flash it back on your device. You can boot the custom recovery up with the Volume Up + Power + Home keys during the booting phase but never when it’s already turned on.
