REQUIREMENTS

• You must have the Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone with any of the following model numbers: SM-A710M, SM-A710Y, SM-A710FD, SM-A710F.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

• The TWRP file in this guide is an unofficial release posted by an XDA Developers senior member. The file is tested and has worked for some members. The OP states you should have the stock ROM downloaded from Sam Mobile just in case you need to flash it on your device to fix any bricking problems. You can flash that stock ROM with the same Odin flashing tool.
• Download the Samsung USB Drivers for the Samsung Galaxy A7 and install them on your computer before you start the guide.
• Enable the USB Debugging Mode on your Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) by tapping on the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode.
• A7 owners who need the Developer Options menu to unhide itself can make that happen by tapping on the Menu > Settings > About Device > Build Number 7 times.

HOW TO INSTALL TWRP RECOVERY ON SAMSUNG GALAXY A7 SM-A710M

1. Download the TWRP Recovery for the A7 smartphone from this link.
2. Download the Odin flashing tool from this link.
3. Extract the files on the desktop of the computer.
4. Double-click on the Odin executable file that is on the desktop and run the Odin flashing tool so it is open.
5. Boot the Samsung Galaxy A7 in download mode.
6. Connect the Samsung Galaxy A7 to the computer with the USB cable.
7. Wait a few seconds for the drivers to start working. You know the drivers are working when you get a green ID: COM port.
8. Click the AP button and browse the desktop for the TWRP file.
9. Make sure the Auto Reboot box is unchecked and left empty so your device does not automatically reboot after the flashing.
10. Do not make any other changes to the default settings available from the Odin user-interface.
11. Click the Start button and the Odin flashing tool will flash that TWRP on your Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone.
12. Wait until you see the pass message from the Odin user-interface.

Reboot the Samsung Galaxy A7 to recovery mode by turning it off and reboot by holding the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons. Once you get it in recovery mode the first time, your TWRP Recovery will be on the device and the stock recovery won’t wipe over the top of the custom version.
