Anyone who is an advanced Android user and looking to see just how far we can go with root access will likely want to take a look at the SetCPU application. The SetCPU app does what the name implies and allows users like yourselves to clock the central processing unit to the speed of your choice. When we open our devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone out of the box, our central processing units are clocked somewhere in between what would be ideal for speed and battery life. I’m sure some other factors play out with the settings too, but those are the main two choices you have to make with the SetCPU app. No longer do you have to settle for having a device that is clocked to be mediocre at everything. You can tweak the CPU so that it is performing at its best for battery or its best for hardware performance. Just make sure you do not play around with your CPU unless you know a lot about hardware and more specifically what kind of punishment your hardware can take or else you risk bricking your device.
