If you still haven’t found the one that would best fit your needs, you might as well check out this free online photo editing tool called PhotoCat.

What is it and what does it do

Main Functionality

PhotoCat is a free online photo editing tool that you can use to edit your photos or images. With this web app, you are allowed to do three basic things and these are as follows – edit a photo, retouch a photo and create a collage. Aside from this, PhotoCat also features a wide selection of tools, frames and photo effects. So all you need to do is to load your photo and then you choose the tools and apply the effects that you want. You can even compare your edited photo to its original version and once you’re done, you can immediately download or share your photo to your friends and followers via Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. If you’re on mobile, then you can download this tool from the App Store (only for iPhone/iPad/iOS users).

Pros

  • Simple, easy to use
  • Fast, stable, neat, responsive and well-designed UI
  • Features a wide selection of photo editing and photo retouch tools, frames, collage templates and photo effects
  • Features a wide selection of DIY (Do-It-Yourself) collage tools
  • You can compare your edited photo with your original photo
  • You can save your image as JPG or PNG
  • Instant Share – you can immediately share your edited pics to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest

Cons

  • None that I can think of but it would be great if this web app could further enhance the functionality of its tools – like, for example, it could add a smart erase tool for automatically removing backgrounds as well as a quick revert tool to immediately revert the image back to its original (un-edited) format

Discussion

PhotoCat for WebThere may be a bunch of free online photo editing tools that you can use to edit your photos or images but not all of them can provide you with everything that you need to make your images look more beautiful and elegant. As a matter of fact, some of them have very limited filters and photo effects while there are also those that lack some essential features such as the option for creating a variety of photo collages.

The good thing about PhotoCat is that it’s feature-packed. Aside from its wide selection of tools for photo editing, it also features a full set of tools and options for photo retouching. You can also use its assorted templates to create a wide range of interesting photo collages. So with PhotoCat, you have almost everything that you need plus it also flaunts is neat, stable and very responsive user interface.

What I like most about this free online photo editing tool is that it can quickly process things so you don’t need to wait for a few minutes just to see the outcome of the effect or filter that you’ve applied to your image. Aside from this, you’re also free to choose from its wide selection of frames or photo borders plus you can personalize your photo by adding captions or text.

Functionality wise, I am very pleased with PhotoCat’s performance. It’s definitely one of the best online photo editing tools that I’ve tried so far. It doesn’t crash or lag even when I try to edit some high-res images. I also like the fact that users can compare the before and after versions of the image that they’ve edited. In addition, it also lets you share your edited photos directly to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. You can also download your photos as PNG or JPG.

All in all, I can say that this web app is truly worth checking out. It is a great photo editor and it would definitely suit those who are often sharing their edited pics to various photo sharing communities such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Flickr, deviantArt and 500px. Nonetheless, I do think that its features can still be polished. It would also be great if it would add a tool or option for automatically removing image backgrounds. I also noticed that it lacks the option for deleting all of the changes that you’ve applied to your photo so that you can turn it back to its original (un-edited) format.

Conclusion and download link

If you are looking for a great online photo editing tool, I would highly suggest that you try PhotoCat. It has almost everything that you need to make your photos look elegant and fab. It also serves as a great alternative for users who are looking for a hassle-free way to edit their photos without having to use any advanced photo editing software such as GIMP or Photoshop. It’s just a bummer that this tool isn’t available on Android.
