Paragon Virtualization Manager is a software that allows you to:
Easily migrate a Windows-based computer to a virtual environment (P2V) and vice versa (V2P). Work with virtual disks from one easy-to-use interface of Virtualization Manager, without starting a virtual machine: migrate from one virtual environment to another (V2V), exchange data between your physical environment and the virtual one, perform any partitioning operations and more. Recover the OS startup ability after a system migration to a different hardware or unsuccessful virtualization by a 3rd party tool.
These are the major features as per the developer:
- Migrate a Windows-based computer to a virtual environment (P2V)
- Migrate from a virtual environment to physical (V2P)
- Virtualize system from its backup image (P2V)
- Migrate from one virtual environment to another (V2V)
- Recover the OS startup ability after system migration to a different hardware or unsuccessful virtualization by a 3rd party tool (P2P and P2V Adjust)
- Clone a partition or an entire hard disk
- Exchange data between your physical environment and the virtual one, or between a virtual disk and its snapshots
- Accomplish virtual drive partitioning (create, format, delete, move, resize etc.)

AOA Ashraf :)
Thanks for this. Seems like a very useful thing.
My apology that I’m not getting a true picture of this tool from above article :(
Is this like VM Ware (Virtual Machines)? I’m using these in office on a big scale, like running 2 or 3 VMs on one machine
Can we compare this tool with VM Ware or this is different technology?
AJS
@Farrukh
This is different than VMWare. It doesn’t run the virtual machines, it makes/moves them. For example, I use this software a long with a USB/IDE adapter to make bootable VMs. Otherwise, the VMs won’t always boot correctly due to hardware problems. You can also use this software for P2P conversions!
Jeanjean
Same version as your previous giveaway, I suppose ! ?
Darthyoda
This is the same version that was on GAOTD months ago, right? Or is it a slightly newer version?
Emrys
Will this move my OS and files to a cloud type place? I’m ignorant. As usual…
Gvape
@Emrys: It won’t move it to a cloud, but it should make an image of your hard drive in case you want to use it as a virtual machine.
rachana
@AJS:totally confused.
PLEASE EXPAND
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Emrys
@Gvape: I don’t see the point of this software then…make a huge duplicate file on my existing hard drive out of everything on it now? What is the point of using this?

This is a great offer thanks. Tried a beta of this software and it worked very well.
To everyone: This software can be used to make a virtual machine out of an operating system already on a physical drive. So for instance you could make a copy of your old XP computer and run it using VirtualBox or VM Ware Player on a new Windows 7 (or other OS) computer and all your programs and data would be included in the VM. However in this case, you will need to re-activate XP again because it sees the VM as new hardware.

It is not clear where to register.

Great software. Thanks a lot.
Emrys
@jumbi: Thanks. That helped a lot. Guess I need to get out of the 3.1 age and take my XP into the 7/external HD age. Thanks for the wake-up call…
Emrys
@Ashraf: How about a little tutorial for us with little XP machines that want to run with the big dogs on a little porch? Father knows best, after all….
rezidue
@dsfs: upon installation it will ask you to register which will open a browser window/tab to http://www.paragon-software.com/registration/vm95pers.html
Hope that helps ;)

@Emrys- You don’t necessarily need a new OS or a new PC. You can use this with an external harddrive, in case you want to use someone else’s PC but have it be exactly like your own while you use it, OR in case your PC breaks down. You use some 3rd party ap like VM Ware to run it and it SEEMS to be your PC you made the virtual PC with, using this. Check Paragon’s site for more info, sounds like you didn’t see the best page there or something. It’s a pretty remarkable ap!
