[Web] Easily find Twitter trolls with Trolldor

Trolldor for TwitterJust like other online communities, Twitter isn’t totally exempted from trolls. As a matter of fact, it is a place where you’d tend to discover all sorts of trolls. Well, not literally but they’re the type of users who simply aren’t going to bring any good to your online reputation. It’s just that the site itself really has no way of helping you spot the trolls but anyways, that’s exactly why you should consider using this simple web app called Trolldor.

What is it and what does it do

Main Functionality

Trolldor is a simple web application that works like a blacklist for Twitter trolls. With the help of this web app, you can check whether a certain user is a troll. Simply put, a Twitter troll is someone who is often causing a discord in the Twitter community by deliberately provoking other users through the use of provocative tweets as well as controversial, irrelevant and off-topic messages. Furthermore, Trolldor is free to use and you can use it even if you don’t sign-in as a registered user. You can also use this app to report and block those Twitter trolls.

  • Free to use
  • Simple yet intuitive user interface
  • Gives a detailed summary about a user’s troll status – this includes the user’s average daily tweets, followers, mentions, account history and blacklist reports
  • Can be used to identify, report and block the Twitter trolls
  • Features a feasible method for blocking trolls

  • The web app’s servers usually go down from time to time
  • Non-registered users are only allowed to check up to two profiles daily. They are also not allowed to report other users as trolls.

Trolldor Web AppThe way how Trolldor works is quite simple. When you visit the web app’s homepage, you get the option to try it first by entering the profile that you want to check. To do so, just type the username of the Twitter user in the empty field then click the “Check” button. It will only take a few seconds before you will be able to see the results.

After which, you will be redirected to a page where you can see the status of the user that you want to check. On the left side, you’ll see an overview of the user’s profile. If the user appears to be a troll, you’ll see a description right below its username that states something like “this user is marked as a troll”. On the right side, you’ll see the user’s behavior indicators. These indicators basically shows the user’s tweeting behavior so you can generally gauge whether he or she is really doing something that can be considered as rude, provocative and detestable. Furthermore, this is also the section where you can see the user’s total number of troll reports.

Keep in mind that in Trolldor, if a user gets a total of three troll reports, he or she will be automatically listed as a troll. In addition, the reported user will not be able to manually remove his or her account from the troll list unless that user issues a public apology. The public apology must mention the names of the users who filed the report.

It should also be noted that Trolldor only allows guests (non-registered users) to check a maximum of two accounts daily. If you want to check unlimited accounts, you’ll be required to sign in as a registered user. Apart from this, you should also remember that even if a user that you’re following is listed as troll, he or she won’t be automatically blocked from your account. You need to do that manually. There’s also no way for you to perform a bulk scan.

All in all, I can say that Trolldor is a promising tool that can help regulate the Twitter community by constantly identifying those troublemakers. Aside from spammers, we all know that having a troll on our followers list can be quite annoying especially if they fill your timeline with hate messages and irrelevant posts.

Even so, Trolldor is still in its beta stage so there are still a lot of things that’s needed to be polished. Its server also goes down from time to time but other than that, it can really benefit those who simply want to keep their accounts free from Twitter trolls.

Conclusion and download link

If you are someone who uses Twitter for work, business and personal purposes, Trolldor can help keep your account safe from trolls. Its efficiency may still be far from perfect but all in all, it does what it is intended to do. So why don’t you go ahead and check it out?
