[Review] WinUtilities 7.0

Software description as per GOTD:

WinUtilities is an award winning collection of tools to optimize and speedup your system performance. This suite contains utilities to clean registry, temporary files on your disks, erase your application and internet browser history, cache and cookies. It also supports to defragment your disk drives and improve computer performance and stability. Built-in StartUp Cleaner allows you to control startup programs that load automatically with windows, find duplicate files, fix broken shortcuts and uninstall unneeded software. other features include secure file deletion, recycle bin shredding, system maintenance tasks scheduling and undelete deleted files.


WinUtilities has been given out a few times on GOTD. I wrote a review on it when it was given out as v6.4 (click here) and v6.2 (click here). Today’s version is v7.0 and here are the changes are per the developer since v6.4:

Final Verdict

WinUtilities is an excellent program. I have been using it ever since I got v6.2 from GOTD and am glad for the chance to upgrade to the latest v7.0. I recommend it to anyone.

    Mine upgraded also but today it says 30 day trial so I’m thinking if you just upgraded you didn’t get the version made for Giveawayoftheday which I am told it will say on the top.

    Thanks for the helpful review.

    Is there a reason to use CCleaner if you are already using ASC Pro? And if yes, what settings are safe (there are so many selection boxes to check and uncheck, and I’ve heard that even though CCleaner is generally quite safe, it can still cause trouble if you don’t set it the right way)?

    hummm.. although it updated without problems, it lost the “full” status, thus being transformed into a trial version. So, in the end, had to install the new GOTD version. Not so good anymore!

    I’d like to see a side by side comparison of this with the Advanced System Care, the Wise products (which are what I use)and the other products listed. That would be interesting!

    it upgraded automatically to the new version 7 from my previous GOTD version. Good!
