[Mac OS X] Race realistic RC cars with RC Mini Racers

RC Mini Racers is a fun little game that lets you race remote controlled cars. For how simple of a game it is, the graphics are overwhelmingly great. The second you start playing this game, you will immediately get the feeling that you are a kid again. This game is attempting to recreate the fun we all had as kids playing with our remote controlled cars. The game’s controls make gameplay very easy and enjoyable while not requiring much time to get used to. However, there are some parts of this game that require real money, which can be a bit of a pain.

RC Mini Racers looks incredibly simple, but it does indeed have some decent features. To start there are a total of 20 different cars that you can choose from, each having its own advantages. You can customize any car you want in the pimp shop, which will let you change the color, antennea and even the wheels. Once you pick your car, there are a total of 25 tracks in the game. This is an impressive number for a free and simple game like this. There are also several different types of races that include circuit races, sprint races, and even a coin racing mode. RC Mini Racers also has weapons such as missiles, which are actually needed in order to win some races. Each track will let you choose from 4 difficulty modes so you can have enough time to work up your skills.

Unfortunately RC Mini Racers is not an entirely free game. There are quite a bit of in-app purchases that take away from the “free” label. While the game boasts over 20 playable cars, you can only play 3 of them right away. The others must either be unlocked or bought by using real money. What’s confusing is that you do indeed collect virtual money, but this money cannot be used to buy new cars. This is unfortunately very annoying because only playing with 3 cars can get old pretty fast.

Overall, the game is very fun, and the basic features are free so you can only complain so much. The game is exciting and really great once you starting getting used to the controls and the weapons available. It is very unfortunate that they made so much of the game cost money. I would much rather prefer paying a few dollars for the game up front rather than be tied down with all the in-app purchases. But overal,l the game is a great way to waste a little bit of time and really makes you think back to your childhood.
