Discussion

SwitchApps offers a unique way to handle multi-tasking on your phone. The entire interface revolves around a press-able icon. This icon will always be showing, even when you are in your apps. While this may sound intrusive, the icon actually become transparent while your in a app. This means you will see the icon, but only the outline. This is actually necessary because if it wasn’t always visible, you wouldn’t be able to switch between apps quickly.

The icon will provide you with several functions, all demonstrated in the video below. The icon will be your go to spot for launching your favorite apps and switching between already-running applications. It will also be a convenient way to adjust quick settings if you don’t like the stock power widget. You can use a combination of gestures on the icon to accomplish different actions.

While this app is fantastic, there are just a couple, minor complaints. For starters, the gesture support is really intuitive, but not exactly thorough. It would be great if you could launch apps by using gestures. This type of feature could really revolutionize who we use our phones. Additionally, the app itself can be quite a memory hog. Seeing as it’s an app that will be on constantly, you might want to steer clear if you are on a lower end device.

Conclusion and download link

Overall, this app genuinely provides you with an entirely new experience. Multi-tasking isn’t something every Android user uses on a regular basis. However, this app makes it so easy and simple, that some might decide to use it as they become more aware of how capable their phones or tablets are. This app could in fact help some users really push the limits of their device because it makes multi-tasking a very natural process.
