First of all, I’m not sure I’ll be able to ever get over that title. Formerly titled, ‘Jobs. Get Inspired,’ the ‘jOBS’ title isn’t much better — it’s a lot worse, actually. But that’s beside the point. The movie chronicling the life of the late former Apple CEO is due for release this April, according to the producers.
The first Steve Jobs biopic will also debut later this month on the last night of the Sundance Film Festival, followed by that wider release in April. I say first biopic because another film, being written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), is also currently being worked on.
As for jOBS, the movie will be covering the period of 1971 to 2000. That means it begins with the founding of Apple and ends with his return to Apple when the company acquired NeXT.
I’m extremely skeptical for now, but it’s going to be interesting to see which film turns out to be the definitive portrayal of Steve Jobs’ life.
