Discussion
This app is a god sent gift to all us lazy geeks, who just can’t get some exercise done. Now you may have some serious excuses like I have no time, or something downright ridiculous it is boring. Whatever your excuse is, this app makes now working out not only fun but also easy and worthwhile. The whole concept of this app is pretty much similar to Kinect. It uses webcam to detect your motions. To begin with the game is pretty much straightforward. There are bubbles all over the screen and you have to pop them. The screen projects the image it gets via the cam and the interface is superimposed it.
Pretty simple you might say, the app has some really nice nifty features like Calories Burnt. This calculates the number of calories you have burnt based on upon the data you have put it. Though it isn’t very accurate, it gives you a vague idea of what has been done, and can be a huge motivating factor.
Also there are many interesting combo moves and killer sequences, which will keep you hooked to the game till you get tired. And the best part about the game is its simplicity which makes the whole thing appealing right from kids to old people. Also an interesting bonus feature is the option to share the photos of your workout. The app clicks the photos during the course of the game so that you can share with the world the fun you had.
On the drawbacks, I don’t have a lot of complaints. But one irritating thing is that the best features of the app are reserved for the paid version of the app. To begin the game is limited to 1 min. And only 3 levels are unlocked, and to unlock all the 12 levels you will have to pay for the app. And the app is also ad supported, though thankfully you don’t have any ads during the course of the gameplay.
Conclusion and download link
BallStrike is the coolest app I have seen, and using it is by far the best thing that I have done. The app has a really good innovative concept, and uses your PC to do something futuristic. The app lives up to the expectations and you can really have a nice fun workout session using this app. And then again, it is the free version and it obviously doesn’t have all the features unlocked, but give it a try once. You will surely get addicted.
