Backup4all should be a familiar name to dotTechies because I have written about Backup4all multiple times in the past. For those that don’t remember, or don’t know, what Backup4all is, let me recap.
Backup4all is an easy-to-use, commercial file backup software that comes in four flavors: Backup4all Lite, Backup4all Standard, Backup4all Professional, and Backup4all Portable. Here is a chart listing the features of Backup4all and comparing the feature differences between all four versions:
In the review of Backup4all Lite (v4.0) I wrote last February, I was impressed by Backup4all – specifically the extensive plugin support – yet felt the Lite edition was a bit too basic. So, flash forward to this February and dotTech is here to give away 30 licenses of Backup4all Professional (the fully-featured edition of Backup4all) to 30 lucky dotTechies for free! Whoever wins a license of Backup4all Professional “get the same rights as (regular) customers of Softland.” In other words, the winners of these licenses will be able to receive all “minor updates” for free. What exactly is a minor update? Well, currently Backup4all is v4.4. A minor update would be v4.4 -> v4.5; a major update (i.e. an update that won’t be free) would be v4.4 -> v5.0. However, don’t worry. Once you reach the point where you no longer receive updates for free, you can still use your version of Backup4all Professional indefinitely because it will still be supported.
That being said, here are the rules for this giveaway:
Version being given out for free: v4.4.189
Free updates: Minor updates only
Supported OS: Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/Server 2008/Win7
Download size: ~19 MB
- To win a license of Backup4all Professional, you must post a comment below stating that you want to enter the drawing. If you do not state specifically that you want to enter the drawing, you will not be entered.
- You may only enter once and you may only win one license. Anyone caught trying to enter more than once or trying to win more than one license will be disqualified.
- 10 licenses are reserved for dotTech donors, authors, forum admins, and artists (if you fall in this category, please specifically state it in your comment; also if you are a donor, use the e-mail you donated with so I can verify). The other 20 can be won by anyone.
- I reserve the right to award specific people licenses if I feel they have helped foster the dotTech family by being very active (the people who fall into this category is at my sole discretion).
When posting a comment, please make sure you enter an e-mail that is 100% valid and an e-mail you will check because the licenses will be distributed directly by my contact in Softland. If you win and don’t have a valid e-mail or an e-mail you don’t check, your license will go to waste. However, please don’t post your e-mail in your comment! You should never post your e-mail on a public form. Just enter the e-mail you want to be contacted at in the “E-mail” field when writing your comment – I will be able to get your e-mail from there. Or if you are a registered dotTechie, just post a comment normally and I will be able to find your e-mail.
By entering in this drawing, you give dotTech permission to give your e-mail to Softland – so they can contact you with your license information – if you win.
The winners of this giveaway will be determined using a random number generator when the giveaway ends (there will be a random number generation for the 10 reserved licenses, and there will be a random number generation for the other 20). The giveaway will end in 72 hours (on February 5, 2010).
Good luck to everyone!
