Industrial-robot maker Kuka is celebrating the launch of its new factory in Shanghai in a very strange way. On March 11th, the company will pit German ping pong champion Timo Boll against its Agilus robots. The former no. 1 player will probably have his hands full, since Kuka says the robot is the fastest in the world.
The KR Agilus robot will primarily be used for product assembly in the new factory, but before that it will have to face one of the best human ping pong players in the world. Hopefully Kuka uploads the match, as I’m sure many others would like to see the outcome.
