Earlier this year, Samsung released an updated and improved version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, called the 2014 edition. The Galaxy Note 10.1 features improvements in hardware as well as software features and comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Requirements
This root guide is meant for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, model numbers P605 (LTE) | P600 (WiFi) | P601 (3G). You can confirm the model number by going to Settings > About Device on your tablet or by checking the packaging box labels. Do not try this method on any other device models.
Before we Begin
Download the following files to your desktop
- Samsung Device Drivers – Download and install
- Root Package – P605 | P600 | P601 – Download the package for your model number and extract to desktop
How To Root Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition
- First of all, download and install the Samsung USB drivers on your PC
- Next download the root package for your device model number from above, and extract the package to your desktop
- Power off your tablet
- Open the Root Package folder you extracted earlier and run the Odin3 exe file as administrator
- Now power on your tablet while pressing the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time. At the warning screen, press Vol Up to enter Download Mode
- Now plug in your device to the PC. You should see an Added! message in the Odin window
- Click the PDA button in ODIN and load the CF-Auto-Root tar.md5 file from the Root Package folder on your desktop
- Leave everything else in ODIN as it is.
- Double-check everything in ODIN and click the Start button to start flashing the root package on to your device
- Once the flashing is complete, you should see a Green PASS message at the top left in ODIN. It is now safe to disconnect your tablet.
Your Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition is now rooted and you can try out various root apps as well as flash a custom recovery in order to explore the world of custom ROMs. Enjoy your rooted device.
