PDFTiger is a software that aims to serve as an all-around PDF tool. Not only does it have a PDF printer to allow you to create PDFs, but it also has a PDF converter allowing you to convert PDFs -> .DOC/.RTF/.TXT/Images (JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIF)/.HTML/.SWF. If you want to learn about PDFTiger in detail, please read my full review on it. As my full review indicates, I am not particularly impressed with PDFTiger, but hey, if you want it, you can get it for free; just follow these simple directions:
Version being given away for free: v1.0
Free Updates: Unspecified
Supported OS: Windows 2000/ME/XP/Vista
- Visit the promotion page and follow all the “Zum Download” links to download PDFTiger (16.6 MB):
- After PDFTiger has finished downloading, unzip it. In the folder that you unzip it, you should find two files:
Double click on “Registrierungs-Code”; the registration code will be in there:
Copy the registration code.
- Now run the file named “pdftiger” to install PDFTiger.
- After it finishes installing, run it and register it with the code you just copied:
NOTE: When you click on the “Click Here to Register…” PDFTiger’s homepage will open in your default web browser asking you to purchase it. You need not purchase it – just close the webpage.
- Restart PDFTiger.
- Enjoy!
If you have trouble getting PDFTiger, post below and I will try to help.
Thanks Karen!

Windows 7?
@Jeremy: I personally don’t know but in general if it works on Vista it will work on 7.
@Jeremy: Ya it seems to work on Windows 7.
@Samuel: QFT!
not work on vista 64, problem with printer driver
Well, as I can see from Ashraf’s review, this tool doesn’t look flawless (Ashraf gave it a Thumbs Down), does it?
So can’t see any reason to grab it despite being free, taking into account that even Expert Pdf Pro 5 is also FREE and much better than this.
Another great free PDF converter is this:

Enjoy!!
Ashraf, it looks like you’re keeping track of that chip.de Advent Calendar, so I’ll stop posting about it on the other thread.
I wasn’t raised in an “Advent Calendar” household (and I’m guessing you weren’t either), but I can see the appeal! It’s kind of fun to see what’s hidden behind the next day’s door!!
@hysterian: That sucks. Thanks for letting us know.
@giovanni: Ya this one needs work. However, eXPert PDF Pro 5 and 7-pdf are not true alternatives to PDFTiger. eXPert PDF Pro 5 can create PDFs and do PDF -> Word conversions. 7-pdf can only create PDFs. PDFTiger can create PDF and do many PDF -> different format conversions.
@normofthenorth: I am, ya. I post about the giveaways that I think people may be interested in.
You are right I wasn’t raised in an “Advent Calendar” household. Heck I don’t even know what an “Advent Calendar” is nor that “Advent Calendar” households exist LOL.
I have a question, how can we convert a .ttf document in .pdf? is that software helpful?
