I know it sounds like Apple missed the boat and is only getting around to their April Fools’ Day joke now, but this is very real and happening right now. Charity Auction Charitybuzz, which normally asks celebrities to auction off the opportunity for their fans to have the time of their life. Now tech geeks, especially Apple fans, finally have their chance!
Their latest auction is an offer to have coffee with current Apple CEO Tim Cook, in Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino. The estimated value for this little coffee date is at $50,000, with the current bid as of posting time sitting at $10,500. The legal terms on Charitybuzz’s site notes that this offer is valid for 2 people, and will last for around 30 min. to an hour. The winner will be subjected to a security screening, meaning “Angry Android fanboy murders Tim Cook” won’t be a headline we’ll be seeing anytime soon.
The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights will benefit from the proceeds, and the site also says that this offer was donated by Tim Cook himself. It’s an interesting little idea, especially considering the fact that Apple has traditionally been one of the most secretive companies in the business. Reaching out to a fan or two (very rich fans!) and donating at charity at the same time? Sounds like a win-win to me.
If you’ve got the cash to drop on spending an hour with one of tech’s biggest CEOs, hit up the link below and place a bid. It also sounds like the perfect opportunity to get some valuable business tips from the man who runs one of the most valuable companies in the world.
Now all I can think about now is how amazing coffee would’ve been with Steve Jobs.
