Valve, the video game development company that gave us beloved titles like Half-Life, Team Fortress and Portal is looking to develop something else now: Its next crop of capable and talented employees.

The company has just introduced an experimental new program called Pipeline that is meant to formally introduce high school students with a passion for video games to the industry, while also providing them with insights and knowledge that they can use to turn their passion into a fulfilling career.

Valve is using Pipeline to connect with teenagers and answer important questions that they may have about breaking into the video game industry, such as where they should study and how they can find jobs with video game development companies.

According to Pipeline’s website, it is “an experiment to see if we can take a group of high school students with minimal work experience and train them in the skills and methods necessary to be successful at a company like Valve.”
