We’ve recently seen the rise of wearable gadgets that could allow for an easier life if you’re knee deep in the digital age. But what if you’re not a bracelet or glasses person, is there something out there for you? Sure, it’s called the Sesame Ring, and it is implanted with several RFID tags.
You might not have realized from the image above, but these rings are 3D printed, the only downside to the design is how ugly it looks. We would have preferred if it had more class in its overall design, but for now, this is what we have to work with. Make no mistake, Smart Rings are great, but for some odd reason they all seem to have this dumb square face.
With the Sesame Rings, users won’t have to dig in their pockets to find cash, just simply tap the ring on a sensor to pay for items, opening doors because we’re lazy, or for use on transportation systems. It’s a neat idea, and we do hope this technology becomes a thing. However, we’d love to see the Sesame Ring do more than just opening doors. How about transforming us into Green Lantern, or better yet, summoning Captain Planet? Yeah, we’d enjoy that very much.
The folks behind the Sesame Ring are asking for your help to get this up and running for mass consumption. The project is currently up on Kickstarter with only 3 days to go, though they have already exceeded the target amount of $5,000.
One more thing, these rings are waterproof, bet you didn’t see that coming.
