A man in China’s Fujian province suffered serious damage to his nose during a traffic accident. He refused medical treatment and after several months, an infection left his nose unrepairable. Fortunately for him, the doctors grew him a new nose. The only problem? He had to grow it on his forehead.

The doctors achieved this strange but amazing feat by placing a tissue expander on his forehead, then shaping the nose using cartilage from his ribs. In a few months, when the nose is ready, they’ll perform another procedure to put the his newly-grown nose in its proper position.

This is definitely incredible that doctors can do something like this, but I have to say it again… the dude has a nose on his forehead.
