Huge dotTech Exclusive freebie coming this Friday – stay tuned because it will only be available during the weekend!

Update: The freebie is live! Go get it!

Hey Friends,

This weekend dotTech will be running a promotion to get a well known, respected, effective, and unique  – and one of my personal favorites – security software for free. The promotion will begin on Friday and will end on Sunday so I figure I should give everyone a heads-up so no one misses out. (Feel free to spread the word =D.)

Take care,

Update: No, sorry it is not NOD32 although I am working on getting that too. The freebie this weekend is a software that takes more of an unorthodox method to computer security. As I said, it is one of my personal favorites. When I say personal favorites, I mean it… literally.

    @Jyo: *Passing tissues* :)

I have my A2, so I’m happy in terms of AVs. But let us wait and see!

  • Mohammed Sarhan

Well, I wish it will be Avira
    Don’t let me down, Ashraf

  • Jyo

@Ozzie: I’d love that, but I don’t think Avira has an unorthodox way…. (goes back to corner and weeps)

  • amozai

    I’ll appreciate it so much.

  • heavy

Whatever it is, I am sure that Ashraf will make sure that it is quality software.

  • Ozzie

My bet is on Avira … Ashraf is a HUGE fan of Avira. But we’ll see, hey!

  • o(o.o)o

I’m guessing the security software freebie would be along the lines of virtualization. Something like Sandboxie or Returnil.

  • Fred Smith

My money (if had had any) would be on Returnil.

Do we win one of these –

    if our guess is correct?

  • jumbi

so, it seems its either returnil or winpatrol …

  • Spot3D

Too bad, Agnitum Outpost isn’t in the list, I can only hope for winpatrol then, happy guessing…

  • rudyg

    Sounds like Returnil

  • amozai

    LOL! Thank you soooooooo much.

  • chris

Well Friday is just 2 days away, so let’s wait. I am sure I do not want to miss this. Thanks.

  • Grant

Hmmm…wonder if it’s winpatrol plus…The guessing is the most fun part :)

  • Pratik Daga

Hmm.. ? It is “some unorthodox soft?”

Maybe I think it is Threatfire..

  • @Ashraf: Ah, but you did since RVS is the ONLY security program on the list you gave us. Sorry but it’s too late to keep the secret now, mwahahahaha!

  • Ashraf

@Samuel: A magician never reveals his secrets ^_^.

  • @Ashraf: So it must be Returnil Virtual System!!!! Which mean’s I can use it!

  • Ashraf

    @Shueygal: No not a Christmas gift… I don’t celebrate Christmas. However a gift nonetheless =P.

    @Ed: Cool. Extra strawberries puhleez.

@fake91: Yes it should work on 64-bit machines as far as I know (I don’t have a 64-bit to personally test it but the system requirements list 64-bit support).

    @-Talan-: I don’t drink but thanks =).

@Everyone: No, sorry it is not NOD32 although I am working on getting that too. The freebie this weekend is a software that takes more of an unorthodox method to computer security. As I said, it is one of my personal favorites. When I say personal favorites, I mean it… literally.

  • alalata

Hey Ed! You do not know nothin’ about Ashraf. His ego is so huge, it knows no boundaries!!. One day when he was young, just to prove his ego, his science teacher locked him in a classroom staring at a computer. After 10 hours, the computer died!! Man! this guy is beyond belief, Crashed a computer mentally!!

Hey Ash, can’t wait for the download this weekend. It is free, and if I already have it ( e.g Online Armor), am sure then it will benefit someone else.

Thanks Ash and the dottech staff for the Awesome downloads you provide.

    Hasta leugo!!( See Y’all later)

  • fake91

Is it works on 64 bit systems?
I hope it won`t be nod. I prefere wirtualization appz

  • Hmmm, from what I remember your favorite security software is NOD32 from I hope, I hope, I hope!

  • Tina

Great come on Friday hurry up!!!! Got a hand me down laptop and need some good software! You are the best Ashraf thanks in advance!! Milkshakes for all!!! =)

  • Someguy

I know whatever it is, is good because you are saying so but I am very impatient so tell us what it is.

  • Ed

@Ashraf: I’m rather fond of milkshakes myself. One coming up.

  • Ed

@Samer: it’s not about leaving. Ashraf sends emails (announcements). I’m fine when announcements are given, but an announcement to notify you of an upcoming announcement seems a bit much.

It seems Ashraf himself took it in the same spirit of humor and constructive criticism as it was intended. Cheers.

  • KOR

Thank you for the past offering of ‘TuneUp’.

I really hope it would be Nod32/ESET Smart Security coming up.

    Thank you again.

  • Frankie

Ashraf, thanks for the great offers!

  • Darthyoda

Now I just have to hope I can get to high speed on Friday.

  • legaz

  • Ashraf, you most certainly have my curiosity piqued, awaiting announcement with baited breath.

  • Wow, that’s a big surprise.
Thank you Ashraf, whatever antivirus or firewall you’ll giveaway I hope it will be win7 64 bit fully compatible;-)

  • Rocky

Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to see what it is.

  • ZionPercona

Thanks for the big tip Ashraf.

If only we could eat popcorn from the Internet, then I’d be able to cope with the anticipation more easily. *ponder*

  • Sandeep

    Thanks Ashraf.

But do we have to install duing that period or can install anytime. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shueygal

Goodie, goodie, an early Christmas gift. Can’t wait until Friday. Thanks Ashraf.

  • Joni

Will be waiting – thanks ahead of time

  • Ashraf

@Refpeuk: Free for everyone that wants it within a time period.

  • Refpeuk

I’ll but you a strawberry milkshake if it means getting Kaspersky for free (that’s my guess as to what the freebie is, since from a few of Ashraf’s posts it seems like his fave is Kaspersky)

Also Ashraf, will this be another draw, or free to anyone who wants it in the time period?

  • Albi

Thanks a lot for all the great offers.

  • @Ashraf: Yea, I figured that out today :$

  • Ashraf

@Samuel: Hit the “Reply” button =P.

  • @Ashraf: Eh, I’ll deal without the tin hat. I’ll stick to my currect takeing over plans.

On a side note I figured out how to get the comment links!

  • Ashraf

@Samuel: That is right. Stay away from my domain punk. No pun intended.

  • Ashraf

@Samuel: You need a tin foil hat.

@OldElmerFudd: I deal with rebels harshly – two weeks of non-stop Fight Club can do wonders.

  • @OldElmerFudd: Thanks I think? :S

No coups, at least with Ashraf, he can have the web. I have my eyes on some other people :D

  • OldElmerFudd

@Samuel: You’re much too clever to be one of Ashraf’s minions for long. Secretly planning a coup? If not, only sign up for a position as part-time interwebz lackey.

  • Thanks Ashraf, only problem I have is that I suspect that when you say for free you mean just the program or the program and some limited amount of time subscription.
But about this new interwebz order, can I get in on it????

  • RoseD1st

Ashraf I bear gifts of strawberry milkshakes LOL! Ok I’m looking forward to that :^)

  • Samer

:\ Ed if u don’t like it here why don’t u just leave :\ ! thanks for the heads-up Ashraf, looking forward for it :)

  • dlai

Sounds like a nice holiday gift from you! Much appreciated, can hardly wait…

  • John

Well, I hope it is not Online Armor or Nod32 as I just renewed both :)

  • tejas

    @heavy: “bated” ;)

@Ashraf: Thanks for the heads-up. Looking forward to the ‘previously announced email’

  • Kraal FictionWriter

Now I’m curious…and now time is gonna slow down! =(

I look forward to whatever it is. =)

  • stammer

Great, thanks for the heads up.

  • Ashraf

    @heavy: Yes, yes it will.

  • heavy

Will be waiting with baited breath. Will it run on Windows 7? You’re a good guy Ashraf.

  • Ashraf

    @Aviator: I hope we don’t disappoint =).

@Ed: As the first order of business as dictator of the interwebz, I order you to get me a strawberry milkshake.

  • Ed

Imagine that; now hold your breath for Ashraf’s previously announced email. The man’s ego and self-importance knows no limits.

A good tech website with timely and useful tips is more than welcome, but please, spare us the cult environment and narcissism.

  • Aviator

Wow ashraf. Thanks for whatever it is. Cannot wait to see what it is.regards.
