[Android] Format Factory converts audio and video files into different formats

Format Factory for AndroidThere are a lot of media converters in the market. However, it is difficult to find one that you can conveniently use especially if you are trying to convert the files on your Android device. There may be a few out there that you can download for free but it is rare to find one that could actually convert your files into multiple formats. Speaking of which, there’s this interesting app called Format Factory and it is said to convert your video and music files to MP4, MP3, FLV, AAC, WMV, etc.

What Is It and What Does It Do

Main Functionality

Format Factory is a simple yet multi-purpose media converter that you can download for free. It is intended for Android devices and its main purpose is to convert your audio and video files into different formats such as Mp4, Flv, Avi, Mkv, Mp3, Flac, Wma, Ogg, Aac, etc. To use this app, all you need is to choose the media file that you want to convert and then you select your preferred file output format. You can also customize the file output settings according to your preferences and once you’re done, you are free to share your converted files via Bluetooth, e-mail, etc. All of the files that you have successfully converted will be placed on the app’s media folder.

Format Factory AndroidWhat is good about Format Factory is the fact that it supports various types of file conversions. For audio files, you can convert your songs or audio tracks into AAC, MP3, MP2 and WMA. For video files, you can convert your videos or movies into Android MP4 (low quality and high quality), Android H264 (low quality and high quality), 3G2, Asf, Audio Only, Avi, DVD (NTSC), DVD (PAL), FLV, iPad, iPod, MP4, MPEG1, MPEG2, PS3 and WMV.

Compared to other media converters, Format Factory is very convenient to use since it supports all major file types. If you have this app, then there’s no need for you to use a different file converter for each specific file. Furthermore, this free media file converter for Android is also very easy to use. It is a straightforward app with user-friendly controls.

Another notable feature of this app is that you can customize the file output settings according to your preferences. You can even use this app to split videos and audio tracks. You can also extract a portion out of your lengthy MP3 recordings while retaining the audio file’s original format. It is also important to note that this app will not replace or change the format of your original file. Your original file will remain unchanged so whenever you convert something, you will basically get the original file as well as the output file.

Functionality wise, this app does a fair job in media file conversion. I cannot give this app a perfect rating because there are certain occasions where it fails to convert a file due to an unknown error. It also doesn’t have a pause or resume button. So if ever it fails to convert a file, you have to redo the process all over again. It would be easier if you can just tap on the file to restart the whole conversion process.

Another downside of this app is that it doesn’t allow you to select multiple files from your media directory (SD card). It supports multiple file conversion but in order to convert each file, you need to select each file separately. There is also no quick search button so you have to manually browse for the file that you want to convert.

Conclusion and Download Link

All in all, I can say that Format Factory is a decent media file converter. Its main highlight is its ability to support multiple file formats but there are certain instances wherein it fails to convert a file to your desired format. Even so, this app is still worth to try but if you really want to get a good media file converter, I suggest that you download Media Converter by antvplayer.
