NSA knows about the porn its enemies watch, might use the data to discredit extremists

Due to Edward Snowden’s revelations about the spying prowess of the NSA, many people have been irked with using computers, smartphones, tablets and even gaming consoles — thinking in the back of our minds whether this or that is being recorded by NSA and similar organizations. Your concerns may be confounded.

According to newly the leaked documents, NSA has a record of the porno history of its targets and has considered using that history against them. It isn’t clear if the data was actually used, but it is said NSA was thinking about using this most nefarious weapon to wipe the credibility of (presumably Islamic) radicals, to discredit them because viewing porn in forbidden in Islam. Huffington Post reports that NSA has such information on at least two suspected radicals, and the possibility of NSA gathering data on more extremists is not far-fetched.

Stewart Baker, former general of NSA, says the following: “On the whole, it’s fairer and maybe more humane” than bombing a suspect, describing the “it” as “dropping the truth on them.” Honestly, we would have to agree. While we aren’t necessarily supporting the NSA or American bully-ism and ideology, we agree with the idea of fighting a war by discrediting your enemy rather than blowing them up.

Whether the NSA knows about the porn viewing habits of ordinary citizens is yet unknown but what is ascertained is that we are all under NSA’s thumb. Quite literally, in fact.
