Part of Google’s plan to get more into the gaming world involves allowing iOS players to connect to Android games that are cross-platform.
Google has released this news as part of a flurry of announcements at the Game Developers Conference, which is taking place in San Francisco.
“Further enhancing Google Play Game services, we’re expanding multiplayer to support iOS, bringing turn-based and real-time multiplayer capabilities to both Android and iOS,” it said on the Android Blog.
“To further help with cross platform game development, we’re updating our Play Games Unity Plug-in to support cross-platform multiplayer services,” the blog post also said,” and introducing an early Play Games C++ SDK to support achievements and leaderboards.”
Now if only Sony and Microsoft would allow cross-platform play on their respective systems.
