If you thought that the social network giant that is Facebook knew too much about you already, then you probably won’t be happy about this latest development of Facebook looking to gather even more information about you.

Despite previous criticism over information that Facebook — and other companies, like Google — gathers, the social network believes that even more data collection will allow them to not only better personalize Facebook experience of its users, but also let advertisers serve better targeted ads — and thus make Facebook more money. According to the Wall Street Journal, Facebook’s latest endeavor into violating your privacy is tracking mouse cursor movements.

Yes, you read that correctly. Facebook is reportedly about to introduce a technology that tracks your mouse cursor movements, a method of gathering data on users that have not yet been used even by the likes of Google. It isn’t clear when or how Facebook will turn on this mouse cursor movement gathering switch, but Facebook’s chief analytics office Ken Rudin says it is just “a step away”.
