Until now Firefox OS has more or less been just a buzzword for most people; there were no actual smartphone that ran the operating system. However, at Mobile World Congress this past weekend, Mozilla showed off two Firefox OS smartphones, ZTE Open and Alcatel One Touch Fire. Interested to see how Mozilla’s first attempt at smartphones goes? The following are three demo videos showing these two phones in action. Check it out:
Seeing as these two phones are low-end (ZTE Open is 3.5-inch 480 x 320 screen with 600MHz or 800MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB internal storage, and 3.2-mp camera, while Alcatel One Touch Fire is 3.5-inch screen with 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB internal storage [microSD supported], and 3.2-mp camera; price and availability for both is unknown at this point), I’m hoping more powerful medium-to-high end phones will show up later this year. If not, I don’t have much hope for Firefox OS.
