Requirements

This root guide is for the Oppo Find 5 running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is specifically for the X909.

Before We Begin

Before you can root, you need to do the following:

  • You’ll need the Oppo Find 5 USB drivers installed on your Windows PC. This driver is an .inf file. Download it to your PC, extract it, and then open Device Manager on your PC (from Control Panel). Look in Device Manager for the device that says it’s the Oppo Find 5. Right-click it and click on Update Driver option. Click Browse My Computer for Drivers and point Windows to the .inf file in the file you extracted. Once this is done, the USB drivers should be working and your Oppo Find 5 should be detected by your computer.
  • You’ll need your device in USB debugging mode. Go to Settings, then ApplicationsDevelopment, and finally USB debugging. Check the box next to USB Debugging.
  • This root is done with a .Jar file, so you’ll need to have Java installed. If you don’t have Java installed, download and install Java to your Windows PC.
  • Download the .jar root file to your PC; this is what we’ll be using for this root guide.

How To Root Oppo Find 5 X909

To root Oppo Find 5, do the following:

  • Connect your Oppo Find 5 to your computer with USB cord.
  • Open the .jar root file you just downloaded; it is called CASUAL-Revision248b.jar. Do this by simply double-clicking on the file on your PC. If it does not open you do not have Java installed on your PC. Refer to the ‘Before We Begin’ section of this guide to learn how to install Java and once you have installed Java, redo this step.
  • Once you have the .jar root file running, select the Oppo X909 option and then select the Do it button.
  • Now be patient and wait for your device to be rooted. Your device will reboot during this process. Everything in this .jar file is done automatically; you just need to wait. Do not unplug your Oppo Find 5.
  • Once you have seen the root is successful message on your PC, you can disconnect your device.
  • Now open up Google Play Store on your Oppo Find 5 and install Busybox.
  • Once installed, run Busybox. Busybox will ask you to confirm root permissions. Allow Busybox to have root permissions, and if it is successful, that means your device has been rooted.

The following video shows the root process in action, if you need to see it:

Conclusion

Enjoy a rooted Oppo Find 5.
