A robot being developed by a Nikko Technos and Yaskawa Electric is capable of circumventing human interaction in order to take care of up to 300, 000 lab mice. In addition to saving researchers tons of hours it will be much less likely to potentially influence the results of experiments being carried out.
The robot can clean mice cages, change water, determine how much food is left back in a cage as well as deliver food. The robot works in conjunction with a monitoring system which allows scientists to observe mice remotely and issues instructions to the robot to help out the mice without having to worry about spoiling test results.
This is slightly creepy, but effective and efficient nonetheless. See the video below:
