If there was any doubt that we’re about to see a brand new Nexus 7, these leaks should put them to rest.
First off are the official press images of the device you see above, leaked by the prolific @evleaks. It’s the clearest look we’ve gotten at the device yet, and it shows that Google had indeed decided to refine the design instead of doing a complete overhaul.
The second leak comes from a Best Buy ad that gives us a better idea of the capabilities of the new Nexus. The screen resolution has been bumped up from the current 1280 x 800 to 1920 x 1200, which at its current screen size should result to much richer pixel density. The 16GB version will be priced at $230 and it also says that the device will be available on Tuesday, July 30th.
So now that we know that Google and Motorola will be revealing the Moto X on August 1st, it’s probably safe to say that we’ll be seeing the new Nexus 7 at its July 24th event. An Android 4.3 announcement at the event would be the icing on the cake.
