Major Xbox security flaw exposed by 5-year-old boy

A 5-year-old boy managed to discover a security flaw on Microsoft’s Xbox One, one that allowed him to log into his father’s account without knowing the password. After entering attempting to input the password once, Kristoffer Von Hassel discovered that entering spaces into the second password entry screen that appears grants access to the account.

At first, Kristoffer was nervous that his dad would find out that he was playing games he wasn’t supposed to. After eventually showing his father how he managed to get access, he was afraid that Microsoft was going to “steal” the Xbox. Instead, Microsoft is crediting Kristoffer in a list of security researchers on their website.

They also gave him four free games, $50 and a one year subscription to the Xbox Live service. Pretty good deal!
