You know what’s cool about firewalls? The name. I know they keep your computer safe and all, but wouldn’t an actual wall of fire be so much cooler than that? Enter The Firewall. While it’s not actually made of fire, it definitely looks much more like it when compared to the one we have on our computers. Oh, and did I mention that it also plays music? Aaron Sherwood, who made the Firewall in collaboration with Mike Allison describes it best:
An interactive media installation created in collaboration with Mike Allison. A stretched sheet of spandex acts as a membrane interface sensitive to depth that people can push into and create fire-like visuals and expressively play music.
It won’t protect your computer or anything, but this Firewall is definitely much more interesting.
