25-year-old laptop vs today’s laptop [Image]

I bet some of you were not even fetuses when the machine on the left was built.

For what it is worth, I believe the laptop on the left is one of the first ever laptops and it is a Mac. The laptop on the right looks to me a Mac, too.

[@j] And by the looks of it you could power the one on the left with a car battery, on the right you’re lucky if the battery is even accesible.

    I want to point out:

I bet that the tiny small thin ultrabook won’t operate in 25 years, not even in 10, and the walkmac will still do its job 25 years from now.

boykott that bulls**t technology and stick with your working hardware for as long as possible.

    kind regards

[@JonE] Edit not working for you too? It was always available, until something broke. After a temporary fix, its back to non-existent.

Walkmac looks more like an equipment to communicate with aliens from other planet.

@Ashraf Yup, the one on the left is the Walkmac. Built by another company but by officially sanctioned by Apple and the first to run their software in 1987.

I believe the one on the right is the 11-inch MacBook Air.

Wonder what happened to all the TI’s? And hoola hoops and 35 cent gas and Ne-Hi’s and Moon Pies and leaving the doors unlocked…. and on and on in a better time and place. Life kinda’ sucks now doesn’t it? The prognosis for 5 years from now? Mayhem and havoc?

And sometimes these seasoned fingers don’t cooperate.

Oh my, how some things do (not to) date us!

Nope; I wasn’t a fetus. I was approaching the end of my Air Force career and my oldest children were teenagers and are now about as old as I was then.
