The best of Comic Con 2013

Comic Con 2013 has ended and fans are quite happy with the outcome. We didn’t get the chance to be at the show floor, but that didn’t stop us from tuning in to Comic Con coverage across the Internet. With that said, here are our best of Comic Con 2013, enjoy.

The Legend of Korra: Book 2

The Avatar series is arguably the best thing to happen to Nickelodeon in years. The last Airbender was a masterpiece, and while the first book of The Legend of Korra wasn’t spectacular, it was well worth watching nonetheless. Hearing of a book 2 really got fans such as myself overexcited, especially when news broke about the first ever Avatar making an appearance in two episodes.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

I’m not a big fan of the Marvel universe, but the movies are great with the exception of Iron Man 3. And, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is coming along really well, especially since the main character is Agent Coulson. Attendees at the show were lucky enough to view the first episode, and from what we’ve read on the Internet, it’s pretty good.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead comics are splendid and so is the TV series, well, for the most part. Season 4 was announced and it seems to center more around Michonne, Tyreese, and Daryl. Rick has apparently given up leadership duties to focus more on his son Carl, though no word on how the Governor would return to cause havoc.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Marvel played it safe with the first movie; the company was on a reel of hits leading up to the Avengers so it was understandable. However, with the Marvel universe now well established, I expect the Winter Soldier to take risks and come out as a the Captain America movie fans have always wanted.

Thor: The Dark World

The first movie should have been called Jane Foster, because that’s what it felt like. Furthermore, the fight between Thor and the Destroyer was completely disappointing, the whole thing ended in a minute or less. With the Dark World though, things could change for the better since director Alan Taylor is the man behind multiple Game of Thrones episodes. In fact, folks who have seen new footage compares it to Game of Thrones, which can only be a good thing if done correctly.

We understand new Comic Con footage showed Loki betraying Thor by chopping off his hand. That should be enough to get excited about Thor: The Dark World if nothing else.

Batman vs Superman

Probably the biggest announcement at Comic Con this year, the one film fans of the DC universe have always wanted to lay eyes on. The film is not a Man of Steel sequel, it’s in the same universe so Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Clark Kent. However, there will be a new Batman, probably Tyler Hoechlin or some other actor. We’re guessing Kryptonite would play a huge role in this movie, though it wouldn’t be a piece of rock from Krypton.

We expect either Lex Luthor or Bruce Wayne to use their millions to find a weakness to stop Superman. At the end of the day, one of them will come up with Kryptonite, which would put Clark at immense risk.
