Missed out on the previous MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver giveaway? It is once again available for free!

Today I was looking through some dotTech articles, comments, and forum posts and realized many people were unable to take advantage of the MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver giveaway I posted about last year. Now we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on a freebie when it can still be had for, well, free; after all sharing is caring, right? Hence this new post about another MAGIX Movie Edit PRo 15 Silver giveaway which is still active and should be hassle-free to get.

[CAUTION: The rest of this article is a copy + paste job from the previous article. Readers may experience acute deja vu followed by a fit of laughter; both are symptoms of an addiction called “dotTech”. Continued prolonged exposure to “dotTech” may lead to serious side effects including increased technical prowess and significant decrease in unused hard drive space. What exactly is MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver and what does it do? Here is a short infomercial from the developer:

What is MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15?
MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 is a complete movie studio for your PC. MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 lets you easily transmit your recordings to your computer and then, once you have improved and enriched them, onto DVD and Blu-ray Disc. It’s great for theater-quality presentations on TV, screen, or monitor.

MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 is a production studio for the PC for editing videos, movies, photos, and audio from a wide range of sources. Long movies can be automatically separated into different chapters or scenes, or do the opposite by automatically incorporating short takes into a single movie.

Add audio, theater-quality transitions, text, and selected effects to your own movies with a mouse click. The easy-to-use interface, advanced technology and handy assistants guarantee perfect results at lightning speed!

Once your movie is finished, you can use it again in a number of ways: Transfer it back onto tape or to your camcorder, burn it onto DVD or Blu-ray DiscTM and enjoy it on TV, or put it online for your friends and family in your personal MAGIX Online Album.

The only thing to note is the freebie of MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver has the burning features disabled – everything else works as far as I can tell.

Thanks Ashraf,This is what I was looking for the last few days. A serious piece of software for video editing. I have other programs that edit but compared to this,,,they look and behave like they were made by fisherprice.
For a large program it runs very smooth.
The upgrade price is fair also, but I will wait until I get the know how of this first.
If you keep this up Ashraf, I will have to install a larger hard drive.
    Thanks very much

My 1st programming was for computerized “Star Trek,” in 1974. Infinitely more fun than any of the many toys collected since then, including thousands of programs.

Again and again you outshine everyone on the internet, the way you hone in on such rare treats, and share.

Like most everyone, was angry that you dared not to show up anywhere online to provide us for free what we all know darn well is stuff we should be paying for, especially to support small, committed developers. After 2 weeks, became legitimately concerned, and after a month, started throwing some prayers out there that all is well in your life. So, like most everyone in your dedicated audience, was so relieved to find you back, AND helping out with a star-spangled program.

Care2 gave bonus points today for people listing what they are thankful for, in 4 words

With several accounts, had a bit of fun with that. Now going back again to add:
    “The Miracle Of Ashraf”

May all your generosity of spirit always collide with Newton’s 3rd law of physics.

    Thank you

I’ve read your reviews for quit sometime and I’ve really appreciated them. I’ll also admit that when you stoped I missed them and you. I’m glad you’re back. Today is “Thanksgiving” here in the US and it’s people like you that are so free with your time and so willing to help others that we should all be thankful for. May God (or whom ever you pray to as a Higher Power) Bless you and keep you safe.

    From the promotion page.

“The Silver version has some limitations such as automatic scene detection, MPEG import trim edits and other functions are disabled in this version. Completed videos may only be exported as WMV files with a maximum resolution of 640 x 480.

Upgrade Offer – To MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus

Move to MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus and you’ll be able to import HD videos, create Dolby Digital surround sounds that shoot across the room, and apply new special effects like 3D scrolling text and professional picture-in-picture animations. The results may then be exported as video files, burned to DVD, mini DVD or Blu-ray discs, even uploaded directly to your YouTube account. But the real fun comes with all the extras: TV recording and playback (if you’ve a tuner), the ability to capture streaming video, a powerful 3D animation tool, and more.”

Ya’ know of a good place for discounted hard drives?

    Hang in Bro!

  • Veegee

There was no Registration Key in the email that I received. What do I do now?

  • DaveB

Ashraf, so good to see you back and as good as ever (ie superb) on GOTD. Dont listen to the ranters who try to shout you down, like I keep saying they dont have to read your offerings (but I ALWAYS do!)

  • Delavictoire

    Hi Ashraf ,
how are you ,It’s been long time I haven’t seen you GOTD ,
THanks for your article and help for this software, But I got a surprise when I installed and opened it ,it doesn’t ask for registration or even a time limit for usage , Iam confused here but it’s working well, I thought it’s because of it’s name MAGIX, but I can’t traceout the reason for this magic

Color me ruby red and take away my turkey.

I Just wondered about the email because i had to reinstall my email addresses and lost some.
Not as an excuse but I did only skim article and saw “If you already have an account with MAGIX, login.” and then I proceeded to try and get on that “oh so high” horse that usually falls over when I get on it.
I”m still having some pumpkin pie for the effort.(not sure if i mean the comment or the actual climbing)

  • Ashraf

@twilightwatcher: Yeah I know about v3.co.uk. This article is in fact about the MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver from v3.co.uk. I also know they have been offering it for a while; I just haven’t posted about it until now because I thought the previous giveaway of MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver is still available.

In regards to the other freebies they have: Yeah, I know about them and I believe I have already posted about most of them already, if not all of them.

E-mail notifications are actually in a bit of a hole right now. dotTech is currently on shared hosting, which only allows me to send out 200 e-mails an hour. Seeing as dotTech has thousands of e-mail subscribers and multiple articles are posted a day, this obviously is a problem. I am, however, in the process of moving to a dedicated server which will allow me to send out as many e-mails as I want. So please bear with me for the next few day :-).

  • twilightwatcher

Just thought I would mention a U.K. site (V3 Software Store)has offered the Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Silver for free for almost six months now. They also have seven more FREE software programs. You need a free account to get the software but I haven’t been spammed by them.

So glad you’re back, but balance is important in life.

Are you sending out Emails for new articles? I haven’t been getting any.

  • Ashraf

@Tortuga: Glad to be back. :-)

@Jyo: You know… the thing with trees, kids, and big scary dogs.

  • Jyo

    What is a park?

  • Tortuga

    Dear Ash

So glad you are back & in better spirits.
Needless to say, I was quite (very-very) worried !!!

So, I giggle through your silly rant above!! :D
Indeed, very good diagnosis on your part, we are all suffering from that awful disease of cramped HDD.
Oh well, we shall continue suffering then … ;)
